Soon collecting applications for Fall 2017!
Each year the Department nominates applicants for College-level and University-level recruiting fellowships. These provide support for the first year without needing to TA. You do not need to specify your interest in these fellowship, or fill out a special form. We forward those applications that best meet the criteria. In the past four years we have averaged over 15 such fellowship offers per year. Additionally, the Department has its own pool of fellowship money. These tend to be cash awards, though they might also involve research fellowships.
EXTRA NEED FOR STUDENTS IN COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS AND ASTRONOMY:
Between last year and this year, the Department of Physics and Astronomy is adding six new faculty in computational physics or astronomy. This includes three in lattice gauge theory, two in astrophysics or nuclear astrophysics, and one in theoretical nuclear physics. We especially encourage students with interests in these fields to apply!
