MSU Observatory

Public Observing Nights

Approximately one pair of evenings per month, if the sky is sufficiently clear, the MSU observatory will open its doors for public observing. The MSU 0.6 meter telescope will be set-up for viewing on selected astronomical objects throughout the evening. Also, smaller telescopes are set up in the observatory parking lot, with both local area and MSU astronomers on hand to answer questions.

The next dates for public observing nights in 2008 are.:

Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, 9-11pm
Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, 9-11pm
Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, 9:30-11pm
Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, 9:30pm-11pm
Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5 and 6, 9-11pm
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 and 11, 9-11pm
Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 8, 9-11pm

The MSU Observatory is located at the corner of Forest and College Roads, south of the main MSU campus in East Lansing, MI.
