HREM	high-resolution electron microscopy
HRTEM	high-resolution transmittion electron microscopy
ICP	inductively coupled plasma
IR	infared spectroscopy
LDOS	local density of states
MR	magnetoresistance
MWNT	multi-wall nanotube
(n, m)	topological characterization of a nanotube by the chiral vector
	n + m, where and span the graphite lattice
SEM	scanning electron microscopy
SPM	scanning probe microscopy (includes STM, AFM, etc.)
STM	scanning tunneling microscopy
STS	scanning tunneling spectroscopy
SWNT	single wall nanotube
