G1 QUANTUM MECHANICS

G1.01 ULTRAVIOLET FLUORESCENCE

A variety of materials fluoresce in the visible region when exposed to ultraviolet light.

G1.02 CATHODE RAY FLUORESCENCE

A variety of materials fluoresce in the visible region when exposed to cathode rays.

G1.03 PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT QUALITATIVE

Uses a leaf electroscope to show negative charge is liberated in the photoelectric effect and that the effect is frequency dependent.

G1.04 PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT QUANTITATIVE

Measures the stopping voltage for three frequencies. Planck's constant can be calculated within an order of magnitude.

G1.05 SODIUM RESONANCE FLUORESCENCE

Light from a sodium arc lamp is directed through a tube containing sodium vapor. When a second sodium arc lamp is viewed through the tube, it appears pink rather than the expected sodium orange, which has been absorbed by the vapor.

G1.06 BROWNIAN MOTION

Shows Brownian motion in smoke particles viewed through a microscope and shown over the TV monitors.

G1.07 STEFAN - BOLTZMANN LAW

A high temperature lamp and a radiation sensor are used to verify the Stefan - Boltzmann Law.

G1.08 COLD LED

When a green LED is dipped in liquid nitrogen it glows a bright yellow.
