This directory contains all the most up to date images and
tables for the SMC paper.

New for 4/18/01:

- Table 1 and 3 have been added in postscript form.  They reflect
the numbering scheme utilized to add former "SMC" variables to
the system established for the "SBG" variables.  Both groups are now labeled
as "SMC" variables in these tables and in the light curves, with the former
"SMC" class variables now labeled with numbers > 137.

- Fin.ps is the latest incarnation of the light curves, reflecting the 
new numbering scheme.  The posistion of some of the labels have been shifted
to avoid overlapping with the data points.

New for 4/20/01:

- Added initial finder charts for fields 1 and 2.  The finder charts include
only the newest variables (those of the "SMC" class) with their new numbers.
Still have some bugs to work out in both fields (star 167 in field 1 doesn't
appear to be there!), but wanted to give you an idea of the format.

New for 4/30/01:

- Added Period-Frequency Histograms
  
  fig20.ps : Quality "1" light curves versus total number of Cepheids (all 
             classes) observed

  fig21.ps : Quality "1" light curves versus number found in Smith et al.
             (1992) in same frequency bins

  fig22.ps : Quality "1" light curves versus total number of Cephedis (the 
             original "SMC" class only).  This shows that the spike in the 
             first overtone distribution at the 0.3 - 0.4 period bin (unexpected
             in Smith et al. 1992) arrises primarily due to the large number of
             new variables discovered for the first time in this survey

NEW for 5/30/01:

- Adjusted Fig 3 to use different symbols for 1-OT, Fund, and RR Lyrae per suggestion

- Adjusted Fig 12 to use W_BFM instead of W_V

Note that these figures still use the numbering employed in the old version of the paper

NEW for 6/23/01:

- Adjusted the figure labels to the numbers used in the version of the SMC paper current
  as of 6/23

- Added the photometry list "phot.list".  The fields include the Star (with the newer naming scheme),
  the field from which the set of measurements were obtained, the Band, the HJD, the magnitude, and the 
  photometric error.

NEW for 9/23/01:

- Renumbered all figures to the convention utilized in the latest (as of 
  9/23/01) incarnation of the paper.
 
- Added a finder chart for the standard star field as "fig2.gif" and
  "fig2.ps"

NEW for 11/6/01:

- Added final versions of figures to directory.  Sorry no gifs available.
  Fig 1a-1d are the finder charts for the four fields, and Fig 2 is the standard field finder chart.  The figures 3-1 to 3-14 are the light curves.
