Kirsten Tollefson

I have been a member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy since 2002 during which time I have concentrated my research on studying top quarks as a member of the CDF experiment at Fermilab. My research group has lately been focusing on measuring the charge of the top quark and searching for resonances decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark. Currently I am conveneer of CDF's Top Quark Group (from November 2006 to January 2009). You can find all of the latest physics results from the CDF Top group here.

In addition to Top physics I also work on the trigger system at CDF. My group helps maintain the final level (Level-3) of the on-line trigger system, which consists of ~350 computers running full CDF reconstruction software, and enter new trigger selection information into the trigger database. From 2004 to 2006 I was head of CDF's Trigger and Dataset Working Group.

I am also a member of the MSU ATLAS group. Over the next couple of years as the LHC starts taking data I will begin splitting my time between CDF and ATLAS. On ATLAS I plan to contribute to the trigger effort and continue studying top quarks. I am also interested in high-energy astrophysics and hope to become involved in this area in the future.
