Puppis, the ship deck:

Puppis is one part of the constellation formerly known as Argo Navis (along with Carina and Vela). Argo Navis was the ship used by Jason and the Argonauts as they sought to recover the Golden Fleece. Puppis represents the deck of the ship. The constellation is difficult to see from most of the United States. Only those living in the southern part of the country will be able to locate all of the stars of the constellation. It can be found just to the southeast of Canis Major.
