Tarandus vel Rangifer, the reindeer:
A faint constellation created by French astronomer Pierre Charles
Le Monnier. It is also known as Renne. He created the constellation
to honor his stay in Lapland. The constellation is located in the
northern sky, next to the other obsolete constellation of Custos
Messium, the harvest-keeper. It can be found between the official
constellations of Cepheus, the king, and Camelopardus, the giraffe.
Tarandus vel Rangifer is no longer recognized by astronomers and
does not appear on modern star charts.
