Research Interests:

Right now I am most interested in how the properties of galaxy clusters reflect the evolution of the universe.  Clusters are generally large enough that the gravity of the dark matter they contain dominates their global properties.  That makes them good for probing the evolution of structure formation.  They are also large enough to retain virtually all the gaseous matter associated with that dark matter.  That makes them good for studying the influence of feedback from supernova explosions and supermassive black holes, which act to eject gaseous matter from smaller objects, thereby regulating the rate of star formation.
