I have been privileged to have been elected as the Chair of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society. This is the professional society for high energy physics and was a four year commitment. My chair year was 2010, preceded by vice-chair, chair elect roles and followed by the past chair responsibility.

I was Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1992 through 2000. During that time we built the Biological and Physical Sciences Building on the MSU campus and the SOAR telescope in Chile.

I have served in a number of service roles in my profession, the American Physical Society, and in various reviewer/advisor roles to the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, the State of Michigan,various physics departments, and the American Physical Society.
