Abstract:
The discovery by IceCube of extraterrestrial high-energy neutrinos is likely informing us about some of the most extreme environments in the Universe. I will discuss from a theoretical perspective what insights this new flux has already provided, including into the inner workings of the sources of extragalactic cosmic rays. Additionally, I will address connections with a variety of observations that currently present new challenges, along with how these can be examined in coming years.
