Acoustics & Psychoacoustics

Our goal is to understand how the human brain processes sound. We make mathematical models of the perception process and test these models against experiments on human listeners.

Present members of our group

  • William M. Hartmann - Professor of Physics
  • Brad Rakerd - Professor of Audiology and Speech Science
  • Eric Macaulay - Graduate student in Physics
  • Molly Henry - Graduate student in Psychology
  • Yun Jin Cho - Technician

Our work is supported by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders of the National Institutes of Health.
